Temporary Accounts and Administration Assistant

The Role

The Heights of Abraham is the oldest visitor attraction in Derbyshire. It is looking to recruit a temporary Administration/Accounts Assistant to help office-based staff. Although the role is initially a temporary contract, there is the possibility that it may evolve into a permanent position. The role is wide-ranging and duties will include assisting with the following:

  • Dealing with telephone enquiries from potential visitors
  • Taking Group bookings
  • Secretarial duties
  • Post, courier deliveries and despatches
  • Filing, faxing, photocopying
  • Preparation of seasonal staff wages
  • Preparing and inputting invoices onto a purchase ledger
  • Preparing invoices for payment
  • Other Ad-hoc work as required

The Individual

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Willingness to get involved in all tasks, work quickly and efficiently
  • Good attendance record
  • Positive and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Ability to interact with customers to provide them with a first class experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Preferable but not essential, to have some experience of purchase ledger and SAGE software. Training can be given in house.


Hours and Rate of Pay (dependent upon experience) will be discussed at interview.
